EARLY 20TH CENTURY GERMAN CHORAL GROUP PHOTO (UNPRICED EPHEMERA)
Kirchhain, Germany: 1912.
Signs at bottom of this large group photo translate to “A German song from a joyful heart. Create new joy in work.” and “When pain and sorrow oppress you, a beautiful song will refresh you.” At bottom the caption reads “Grossseelheim Choral Society. In remembrance of the recruits’ farewell celebration of 1912”.~~Großseelheim is a village near Kirchhain in Germany. The photograph was taken by Ernst Huttel. Photograph remains in good shape - what appears to be a scratch is actually a blur in the image. Mounted to matboard which appears in good condition aside from an area of discoloration at bottom. Photo is 5 3/4” x 9 1/4”; mat is 11”x13”.
