August 10, 1918 issue of the Petersburg Index-Appeal bearing the headline, “Allies Keep Up Their Onward Sweep; Capture 17,000 Prisoners Over 300 Big Guns; Some in Washington Think May Be Decisive Battle”. ~~The paper started in 1865, but merged in 1920 with the Evening Progress to become the Progress-Index. ~~17 1/2” x 22 1/2” folded in half horizontally, with uneven fold vertically. Slight darkening left midpage at fold, otherwise very good.
