Quarto; in the publisher’s blue cloth binding, with titling in gold to the upper board and the spine; xiv, 649 pages, including the Index; a clean copy, with Mr. Waitt’s blindstamp to the title page and his bookplate on the pastedown.~~With a 1963 typed letter signed from Allan Nevins to Robert Waitt, Secretary of the Richmond Civil War Centennial Committee, on Huntington Library letterhead, Nevins comments in the letter on revisions to his Fremont biography, and encourages Waitt to publish an article on Fremont in the Huntington’s Quarterly Magazine. At the time of this letter, Nevins was Senior Research Assistant at the Huntington Library.
