Freeman, our first authority on the American Revolution. I only hope he does not find too many errors! I’m afraid he will not agree with my notes on George Reed. Anyways, I remain respectfully, Frederic R. Kirkland. Sept. 1952”. ~~Douglas Southall Freeman is most noted for his exhaustive biographies of George Washington and Robert E. Lee, for both of which he received Pulitzer Prizes.
