Second Edition. 8vo.; in the publisher’s gray cloth binding, with decoration and titling in gilt; [iii]; 87 pages (the last three with photographic portraits); this copy with a non-authorial inscription on the title page, and a typed letter laid in.~~The letter is of interest. It is addressed to Jackson Darst of Williamsburg and is from Roland Galvin, a longtime member of the Richmond Civil War Roundtable. Mr. Darst apparently provided images of William Benjamin Darst with John Welch Darst in a double daguerreotype, and a single image John Benjamin Darst. The three Darsts served in the 4th Virginia Infantry. The images are included in this edition, at the back of the book.
