Three Quarters Leather. Limted Edition. 8vo; in quarter calf over marbled boards, in an edition limited to forty copies or at least “fewer than fifty of these books” printed on the ground floor of the Hillyer Art Building at Smith College; of the forty or fifty copies this is #38 signed by the printer; printed in black, blue, vermillion,~and teal; a colored frontispiece of “Page Bonnets” serves as a kind of index and “The hurried reader should commit these deocrations to memory; [as] the pagers are not otherwise numbered.” Very faint spot or two of foxing to the front endpaper.~~We were unfamiliar with the term “Page Bonnets” for decorative borders at the top of printed pages, but find it both charming and useful.~~.
Near Fine binding.
