The “May 27 Military Intervention” or “May 27 Revolution” coup was not carried out within the chain of command and was executed by 37 low-ranking officers -- they proceeded after neutralizing the command level of the army to arrest the president (Celal Bayar) and other government officials.~~The first of a number of coups in Turkey, and most uncommon. We are able to locate but a single copy on OCLC.
