Four 8vo; in comb bindings with printed card stock covers; each booklet approximately 8 pages printed only on the rectos, and with two photographs of Christmas jollity; other than the covers, there is no text.~~Though we would love to assert that these were from Memco Stores in Richmond (there were two of them in the 1960’s) we can not do so with confidence. The pictures look to be from a factory or manufacturing plant, and a big one given the number of employees at the parties. What we can say is that they are a picture of Baby Boomer life in the early 1950s -- the cigarettes, the women’s amazing dresses and corsages, the men’s neckties, the bottle of whisky in a man’s hand, the Christmas trees in every department, the women sitting in men’s laps,. Memco is tantalizing. And the Christmas party was a big enough deal that souvenir booklets were printed up. Certainly everyone seemed to be having a good time (or were they?).~~.
