On 8 June 1900 Cobden-Sanderson wrote to Johnston saying that he planned to print it ‘at our new press, as a sort of “pronouncement” of its views’. At one time Cobden-Sanderson thought about printing it first, instead of Agricola, but in the end both books were printed at about the same time. In the first List, 31 December 1900, Agricola was announced for January and The Ideal Book for February.~~The upper board has a trivial amount of bowing, else Fine. (Tidcombe DP 2).
