Original Wrappers. 316pp. Large 8vo.; in the publisher’s cream-colored embossed wrappers printed in blue and in gold with a rondel depicting the Chamber of Commerce Building downtown on Main Street; 316 pages including the Index; there are no ownership or other markings in the book; the wrappers are just beginning a small amount of separation at the extremities, but this binding is holding very well.~~Profusely illustrated with engravings and photogravures of buildings and personalities from Richmond at the end of the 19th century. The Confederacy looms large over most pages. A substantial glimpse of Richmond, and one that seems now to be as much shadow as substance.
