Large 8vo.; in the publisher’s full embossed morocco binding, which has been rebacked with nicely toned in japanese tissue; xx, 1-296 pages with frontispiece; the taupe-colored glazed endpapers are lightly creased and with some quite minor chipping; title page and the list of illustrations is printed in red and black.~~When Pyle’s edition was published by Scribner’s in 1883, it met with great success. It was the beginning of a new era for Robin Hood lore, and Pyle’s illustrations are fundamental to the story.~~ (BAL 16378).
