STAUNTON MILITARY ACADEMY. CATALOGUE. [1936-1937]

[1936].

Hard Cover. A handsomely produced calendar for the Staunton Military Academy, which was founded which was founded by Confederate veteran William H. Kable, and which closed it’s doors in 1976. In blue paper-covered boards backed in darker blue cloth with titling in gold and a gold foil pastedown with a photographic image of a cadet. ~~This elaborate catalogue is 117 pages, with photographs throughout. It covers “Character and Purpose”. the structure of the school; academics and studies; activities and athletics; the Junior School; standards of conduct; such things as “What Your Son Should Bring With Him” (e. g. 5 shirts, any color--should not be expensive); oddly, a partial list of parents of Staunton graduates.~~There are several pages of testimonials, which have a certain charm. We particularly Harry Conway of Brooklyn’s statement: “Mrs. Conway joins me in extending appreciation for all you and your fine staff have done for the boy; our only regret being that we haven’t a few more sons to send you.”~~Uncommon. Not found on OCLC.

Very Good binding.
