Limited Edition. In 1932 the Mannheim Bibliophile Society issued a facsimile of a travel sketch book by German landscape artist Theodor Verhas, reproducing 30 sketches of various European sites. The printing process was overseen by Peter Demeter in Berlin.~~The first four copies issued for the Mannhimer Bibliophilen were speically bound in crushed morocco; this is copy #4, of a total print run of 250. in burgundy morocco with panels and rules blocked in gilt, edges with decorative roll, turn-ins with dentelles, lettering and rules in gilt to the spine, and all edges gilt. An oblong 12mo, housed in publisher’s marbled sleeve, with morocco at the opening. There is a previous owner gift inscription at the top corner of the endpaper. The joints are just beginning to be tender. ~~A charming keepsake in a gorgeous binding.
