ON THE ADVANTAGES WHICH RESULT FROM CHRISTIANITY; AND ON THE INFLUENCE OF CHRISTIAN PRINCIPLES ON THE MIND AND CONDUCT
London: J. Robson; P. and C. Rivington; et al. 1799.
Disbound. First Edition. A discourse derived from several sermons given by Vicar of Sunbury, some delivered at an Anniversary Meeting of two Friendly Societies of poor tradesmen and day-labourers in Sunbury. The object: to make the reader more conversant with the Sacred writings. Charmingly, the vicar encourages the readers “to peruse this Discouse at least twice” ... “always referring, or causing some one in their families to turn, to the texts”. Disbound pamphlet; 58 pp. with [1] page of ads for other books “lately published by the same author”.
