Full Leather. First Edition. One of the few religious works by Elias Boudinot, the Revolutionary statesman, Congressman, and member of the Constitutional Convention. After his resignation in 1805 from his highly significant political life, he occupied his time by studying the Bible and publishing his work. Dampstaining to the top edge of the preliminaries and terminal leaves. Front hinge fully cracked. An older Library bookplate on the front pastedown, on top of an even older handwritten shelf number. Fully rebacked with Japanese tissue and a modern leather label. Full calf. (Shaw & Shoemaker 34180; DAB II, 477-478).
