Stockbridge, Massachusetts: [1980s].
Photograph by Clemens Kalischer, of Molly Rockwell with David Wood and Laurie Norton Moffatt, on the second floor of the Old Corner House. Current day Director/CEO of the Norman Rockwell Museum, Moffatt was at the time an archivist for the Museum, creating the catalog raisonne of the artist, working side by side with Wood the then-Director. The group was presumably discussing either the catalog or the pressing relocation of the Museum, as the Old Corner House location was outgrown by the large crowds Norman’s art drew, and was wearing down due to the daily traffic. The NRM would eventually relocate Norman’s studio to its current site in 1993 and begin exhibiting his artwork there, due in large part to the work of Molly and the other active members of the Museum. Signed by the photographer on the gray paper mount, stamped by the photographer on the rear. Measuring 20 x 25 cm, on a 28 x 36 mount.
