Cincinnati: Published for the Proprietor, 1872.
Hard Cover. Enlarged Edition. This edition enlarged and expanded from what originally published as a 48 page pamphlet; now issued in 172 pages, to allow for more racist drivel. There were any number of racist tracts issued after the Civil War, but this by Buckner Payne [Ariel] is truly a low point, with his argument that black people have no souls.~This copy in brown cloth with significant loss (silverfishing); rebacked sympathetically. Three small places of tape residue on the front endpaper. Still, a sturdy binding; with some quite light and scattered foxing.
