While he wrote many other novels ( he is best known for his “Strangers and Brothers” series in 11 volumes) this is his first and only venture into the detective genre. The First American Edition, issue the same year as the English edition. A Near Fine binding in a Very Good dustjacket. The dustjacket has shelfwear and a few short closed tears. It has not been price-clipped. There are no marks of any kind in the book.
