Lissa: Ernst Gunther, 1860.
Full Leather. First Edition. The First Edition of Hermann Hager’s “Complete Approach for the Fabrication of Artificial Mineral Water, with Description of the Apparatus and Machine Required for It”. Hager was the most important 19th century figure in the German pharmaceutical world -- referred to at his death as “the ‘Nestor’ of German pharmacy” [American Journal of Pharmacy; April 1897; p. 182]. His enormous encyclopedia of the pharmaceutical arts was indispensable and comprehensive and colloquially referred to as "The Hager". This first printing of his handbook for the making of mineral water is uncommon, with ten copies found on OCLC, only one of which is in the United States. Full calf, rebacked with original label. With numerous in-text illustrations.
Very Good binding.
