Osgood, McIlvaine & Co., 1895.
Limited Edition. The signed, limited edition du Maurier’s enormously popular late 19th century novel, which introduced to the world the character of the musician and magician Svengali. This large-paper edition limited to 250 copies, of which this is #48, signed by George du Maurier. Quarter vellum over buckram, with spine letters in gilt; top edge gilt; other edges rough cut. There is a small repaired closed tear at the top of the spine; there is a small separation to the vellum at the top of the “T” in Trilby. Some toning to the endpapers, but overall a nice copy.
Very Good binding.
