Scamozzi was one of the most prominent and influential Venetian architects, succeeding Palladio, and teaching Longhena, two other major Venetian architects. The Idea was the only book on architecture he completed during his lifetime. With one partial page, 76 full page, and four double page plates, the double page plates slightly trimmed along the fore edge. Paper repair to the edges of some plates.
