A satire of contemporary politics and dry history books, and Irving’s first novel. Lacking the frontispiece. Of the seven engraved plates, one has a short closed tear, as do a few leaves of text. Personal inscription on the front flyleaf. Quarter cloth over paper covered boards, with an illustrated title pastedown on the front board. Overall in Very Good condition.
