Original Wrappers. Quite an uncommon pamphlet, in which Allaben describes the disinterest expressed in Washington at de Peyster’s offer to raise regiments for the Union Army. This copy had been housed in cardstock boards, which are present with the bookplate of Civil War historian James I. Robertson. The pamphlet has loss to the corners of the fragile wrappers. Deaccessioned from Cooper Union in New York, with several stamps of that institution. We locate only 4 copies on OCLC, one of which is in Scotland.
