Full Leather. A most attractive Bagster Bible in a signed binding of embossed dark green morocco; raised bands with titling in gilt; dentelle turn-ins; printed on “Bible paper” with all edges gilt. Bagster’s monumental “Biblia Sacra Polyglotta Basteriana” appeared between 1817 and 1828 with most copies of the four volume edition being destroyed by fire. Bagster carried on, issuing different texts and transtlations in various combinations. This copy in French and English, on facing pages.
