We expect that we will be down through April and hope to resume sending our weekly e-catalogues sometime in May. At that time we will be open “by appointment only”. Until then our books will not be for sale. In the meantime, you can contact us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CHURCHES OF YORKSHIRE. VOLUME I: ABEL, METHLEY, SKELTON, BOLTON PERCY, THIRSK, BIRKIN, BUDWITH [bound with] VOLUME II (partial): PATRINGTON, SKIRLAUGH, ROTHERHAM
Leeds: T. W. Green and Co., 1844.
Octavo. Hard Cover. , [iv], 38, , 18, 16, 18, 16, 16, 16, 73 (Volume I is serially paginated, Volume II, through paginated). Relatively uncommon work. This copy bound with most of Volume II (though no title or contents page); all lithographic plates are present as called by Boyne in his bibliography, Yorkshire Library; in the fragment of Volume II there are 73 pages of descriptive text which is the majority of the book (complete in 111 pp.) and a complete collation in terms of the plates for the section present. Boyne also notes that published in parts, “copies of this book are often imperfect.” This copy is complete, thus. Bound in publisher’s cloth backed boards with printed paper spine label; edgeworn and soiled; lovely illuminated title page; contents are clean and binding sound; plates are occasionally foxed, but really quite a nice copy of an uncommon title; (Boyne XX).
