Four tintypes from Petersburg photographers, of two men and two women, two estimated to be from 1847-1870. Two of the three photographers can be found in Ginsberg’s Photographers in Virginia, 1839-1900. One is G. W. Minnis, which Ginsberg quotes as “one of the most prosperous daguerretypists south of New York City”. John Bell is also found in the reference, with little added detail. C. Campbell is not found, and there is no indication as to when the two corresponding tintypes may have been taken. (Louis Ginsberg, Photographers in Virginia, 1839-1900).
