It was published in Stockholm in 1818, and is an important work in Icelandic studies. “Rask’s ‘Guide to the Icelandic’ or old Nordic Language’ was the first of an important series of publications which qualify Rask as one of the founders of the modern science of language” [Printing and the Mind of Man, 266]. Half-calf over marbled boards; foxing throughout; previous owner name on the first blank.
