Designed to “instruct and confirm People in right Principles of Church and State, that every one may be rescued from the raging Contagion of Atheism, Deism, Socianism, Fanaticism, Rebellion and Debauchery, that like a Deluge have overpowered the Face of these Lands”, this is an Abridgment of Charles Leslie’s View of the Times. Leslie was an Irish-Anglican priest and nonjuror. He signed th Preface “Your most humble and obliged Servant, and persecuted Brother”. This is complete in it’s own right, with no additional volumes none to have been published. In contemporary sheep with raised bands and some discreet patching to the spine. An uncommon book; we locate only two copies: in St. Andrew’s, Edinburgh, and the University of Dundee. (ESTC N504761).
