Hard Cover. First Edition. This First Edition copy has been rebound in a library-style binding of red cloth with gold titling to the spine. It is from the personal library of Civil War historian Bud Robertson and has his bookplate on the pastedown. The title page, while present, has been backed with new paper. The photographic frontispiece of Jones is present. Mr. Robertson, writing in the Nevins bibliography, considers this “among the best reminiscences of Iowa soldiers” [Nevins I, 115]. (Nevins I, 115).
