An interestingly prescient book by a Mississippi Congressman, who believed it was imperative that the South turn from its “unhealthly preoccupation” with “racist politics” -- and this in 1965! Smith was, in his words, “involuntarily retired” from the House of Representatives in 1962. This copy Signed with a personal inscription to rare book dealer Bob Lurate. There is a light stain at the bottom of the front endpaper and half-title page.
