Kyoto [?]: Nakamura Tasuke [?], 1800.
Album of genre scenes by the artist Yamaguchi Soken (1759-1818) who was a pupil of the great Maruyama Okyo. Splendidly colored woodcuts, with a surprisingly contemporary graphic impact, on double leaves in the oriental style. Stitched into dark red limp cover, embossed with an overall pattern, with title labels pasted on. Pages are patched at the bottom corner, affecting the borders (only). Uncommon.
