Second Edition. Volume I only bound in contemporary calf with spine title. Moderate wear, with toning and staining throughout. Bushrod Washington was George Washington’s nephew and a great favorite of his (in 1802, following the death of Martha Washington, he inherited Mount Vernon and resided there until his death. His case reports were highly regarded and considered authoritative. Washington served on the Supreme Court for 31 years, where he almost always followed Chief Justice Marshall’s lead.
