Philadelphia: Presbyterian Board of Publications, c. 1850.
Octavo. Hard Cover. There is no publication date but the binding appears to be from the early 1850’s. The title page was printed “Presbyterian Board of Publication, No. 831 Chestnut Street” and corrected in pen to read “No. 1334 Chestnut Street”. The Board acquired the property at 1334 Chestnut in 1854, so this pretty well dates the book. An interesting and comprehensive listing of this enormously popular and influential religious publishing house. Includes Music Books, card tracts, publications in German and French, 12 mo. tracts, as well as hundreds of edifying standard works. A nice copy in green blind-stamped cloth with gilt lettering. The front endpaper has adhered to the pastedown; we have not attempted to separate them. The rear hinge has archival repair.
Very Good binding.
