Firenze: Presso Gaspero Ricci, 1821.
Octavo. Hard Cover. Terzo Editione. From the library of Renaissance art historian Sidney Alexander, who lived in Florence for many years. His name is on the front free endpaper of each volume. A couple volumes have a few ink notations by him in the text. Backed in green pebbled cloth and marbled paper covered boards; rubbing at the heads and tails of the spine as well as the board edges; there is a large folding map of Florence with some edgewear and foxing; there is a closed tear at the intersection of two folds; much of the back of the folding map has early reinforcing at the folds with paper; all volumes have 2 plates except volumes 3 and 8 which only have one plate; the text is largely clean and bright, but there are 2 or 3 signatures in volume 1 that are generally toned; an uncommon set.
