Edward Cave founded the magazine, under the pseudonym “Sylvanus Urban”. This is the complete run of the issues for 1782, the December issue containing the index for the year. The front cover for each issue is present. Each issue is disbound, some with signatures starting to separate. Plates present, some folding.
