INDEPENDENT CHRONICLE (Monday September 28, 1807; Volume XXXIX, Number 2757)

Boston: Adams & Rhoades, 1807.

One large bifolium sheet printed on all four sides--page size is roughly 13.5” x 19.5”; the paper is still quite supple; some general edgewear particularly at the fold where it seems this was once bound into a collection and now has a bit of separation to the lower half; some toning. First printed in Salem, MA in 1768 under the title, The Essex Gazette, the Independent Chronicle was removed to Boston as the British troop left in 1776. It continued until 1840 in various incarnations. It was one of the leading pro-Revolutionary papers in its early days.

Good binding
