Attractive lithographic tobacco ad for the British American Tobacco Co.. in Richmond, Virginia. Ad is for their “The Havelock Brand” brand plug tobacco. From the last quarter of the 19th century, when chromolithography -- printing images by using a series of carefully registered tint stones -- was the most popular medium for color printing in books, and also in advertising posters.
