COLUMBIAN CENTINEL (No. 2672; Boston, MA; Saturday November 11, 1809)

Boston: Columbian Centinel, 1809.

One large bifolium sheet printed on all four sides--page size is roughly 14” x 20”; the paper is still quite supple; some general edgewear; faint water-staining; there is some minor text loss due to a closely trimmed margin to the second page; fantastic snapshot of history with local and international news which includes updates from Europe in the midst of the Napoleonic Wars as well as classified; one notable, “Lost--a One Hundred Dollar Bill, of one of the New-York Banks. Whoever has found it, and will leave it at the Centinel Compting Room, shall be generously rewarded.” I wonder if it was returned.
